Peta Myers (BCom (Hons) (Fin Acc) (UNISA),PGDHE (Rhodes))
Peta completed her BCom degree, studying part-time through UNISA, while working and raising her children. She ran a bookkeeping and personnel consultancy business before commencing work at Rhodes, primarily in student funding.
On appointment to the Department of Accounting at the beginning of 2007, Peta registered for the Bachelor of Commerce Honours (Financial Accounting) degree through UNISA as well as the Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education (PGDHE) through Rhodes, both on a part-time basis, completing these studies at the end of the 2008 academic year.
Peta is currently registered for the Master of Education degree, through Rhodes University, with a focus on student learning in the Accounting 1 year.
Peta’s motivation as a lecturer is in setting teaching and learning activities at Accounting 1 level which will result in her students engaging as fully as possible with the learning opportunities which are available. She acknowledges the students as an essential part of the teaching cycle through being responsive to their feedback and implementing suggestions, where possible, when planning future activities.
Peta is also the House Warden of John Kotze Residence, and the Hall Warden of St Mary Hall.
