Professor Lilla Stack (DCompt (UNISA), CA(SA))
Lilla is a Chartered Accountant and a Professor at Rhodes University, in the Department of Accounting. Lilla serves as the Chair on the Audit and Finance Committee and as a Board Member of the Water Research Commission and has been appointed as a member of the Special Consumer Court. Her doctoral thesis for the DCompt degree looked at accounting, auditing and tax problems relating to retirement funds. Most of the recommendations made in the thesis were incorporated into legislation and into prescribed accounting disclosure requirements.
Lilla took early retirement from UNISA in 1998, after a career of 18 years at the university, having progressed from an appointment as lecturer, to a full Professor, and ending her career as the Registrar of Finance and Operations. She lectures taxation to postgraduate diploma, masters, and doctoral students and presents a research methodology introductory course to postgraduate students.
