Hugh Harnett (BAcc (Rhodes), CA (SA))

Hugh studied at Rhodes graduating in 2002.  After completing his articles with Deloitte in 2005, Hugh returned to the department and taught until the allure of sun, sand, sea and rum was too much and took up employment with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in the Cayman Islands.  After completing his contract with PWC, having audited primarily offshore hedge funds while he was there, Hugh moved to Morval Bank & Trust Cayman Ltd, a boutique Swiss Bank providing off-shore financial services, as an Assistant Manager (Hedge Fund Accounting).

Returning to South Africa initially only for a holiday Hugh decided that life at Rhodes was too good and re-joined the Department in May 2011.

Outside work, Hugh enjoys reading, traveling and still harbours a deep affection for, sun, sand, sea and albeit not that much rum anymore ...
