Old Rhodian Golf Club
The Old Rhodian Golf Club, based in Johannesburg, organises a number of events throughout the year to strengthen the alumni network and to raise fund for sport at Rhodes. The Sutherland Old Rhodian Sports Bursary Golf Day is held annually at the Royal Johannesburg & Kensington Golf Club and draws about 80 participants, most of them alumni. This Golf Day has become a fixture on the Jo'burg Calendar, and raises in excess of R50 000. The money raised goes into the Rhodes Sports Foundation, and is used to put students with exceptional sporting ability through the University.
The Johannesburg Club has been running for many years and has successfully run many golf tournaments as well as other social functions in and around the Gauteng area. For more information please contact Pat Rousell or phone her on 072 810 7491.
The Cape Town Club was started in 2012 by Old Rhodian JP Maurel and we are hoping that it will continue to hold more events and enable Old Rhodians to meet up for tournaments and social functions in the Cape Town area.
All Old Rhodians, golfing and non golfing are welcome to join in at the various golfing events and social functions taking place in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
