Orientation Old Rhodian Cocktail Party

A Cocktail Party, hosted by Dr Badat, was held on the 4 February 2012 at Alumni House.

All Old Rhodians coming back to Campus to drop off first year relatives were invited to attend with the new student.

Over 80 guests, consisting of Old Rhodians, First Year Students and Academic staff attended and Dr Badat introduced the Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Dr Mabizela and Dr Clayton along with a few of the Deans and HODs. Dr Badat proceeded to welcome the first year students and told them that they had an opportunity to begin a new life journey. He explained that they had chosen Rhodes University, but equally, Rhodes had chosen them.  There would be a partnership of mutual commitment to learning and knowledge. The Old Rhodians were given an update on how South Africa's smallest university would again be punching well above its weight in 2012.

An informative and entertaining evening was had by all, with Old Rhodians meeting each other again and leaving assured that they their relatives had indeed made the right choice in choosing Rhodes University as their alma mater. Please click on our Gallery to view photographs of the evening.
