50 Years Since Registration

Six young ladies who all registered in 1962 and were together in John Kotze House maintained their friendship over 50 years and returned to campus in February. Accompanied by their spouses, of which three are also Old Rhodians, they took a campus tour and had tea at JK House. When they were students in the early 60's the library was new and John Case commented after the day, "what a privilege seeing the new library that incorporates the old, all ultra modern in design and technology. After Mrs Berger's address, I remarked that my impression of Rhodes in 2012 is the user friendliness of everything for students. Also, staff attitudes seem so positively aimed at assisting and nurturing. I shudder when I think back to my first year in science when many lecturers seemed to enjoy our confusion and mock our ignorance. All 12 of us were impressed with Rhodes' facilities and the general friendliness of staff and students alike.
