Patricia (Workman) Gilbert (1951)

Paddy died on the 27th March 2009 from a long and painful illness at the the Frail Care Centre here in Australia. She was much loved where ever she lived and was a credit at all the places we lived. She graduated in 1953 and completed her studies at London University in 1955. We were married in in 1956 and we had a long and happy marriage of 52 years and 6 months virtually to the day. I was Desmond Gilbert and graduated in 1952 with a B.Com degree. We met at Rhodes in 1951 and we were together nearly all the time with the exception of her time in London. She has two sons and five grandchildren all living in Australia. Her twin brother was Hugh Workman who also graduated in 1953 with a B.Com.
Both our sons graduated at the Rhodes so we have a long association with the University. Paddy's father also was an old Rhodian dating back to the 1920's where he graduated with a B.Sc degree. Her grandchildren are continuing in the tradition at universities in this country.
