Luke Mann (2008) organised a very successful weekend to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the founding of the College House pub the "Toot 'n Tiger". Everyone started arriving on Friday afternoon around 4p.m. for some drinks, in total 13 old boys and 6 of their wives arrived, all from the 1974-76 vintage of College House who were the founders of the bar.
At 6pm they headed to the Founders Dining Hall where they enjoyed a lovely meal put on for them by the catering Staff, a few words of welcome and thanks were said etc.
After dinner they headed back to the Toot 'n Tiger where the festivities picked up a gear! The new Toot 'n Tiger logo was unveiled, ties and beer mugs handed out and a number of items of memorabilia was hung up. A few words were spoken by Luke as to what the bar means to everyone in College House and Dr Errol Allcock gave a brief official account of how the bar came to be in its current location.
From there the night proceeded in great spirits with many anecdotes and stories being shared. Around 11 they called it a night and all the lads, both current and old, headed down to the bottom of the College lawns to sing the traditional College Song. The next morning the old boys assembled at 10 and took a walking tour of Campus, and they then started up a braai on the front lawn of College for the whole house as well as the old boys. The braai was most pleasant and was a relaxed way for every one to catch up and end the weekend.
Thank You Luke!
