Zimbabwe Reunion 24 March 2011
The Reunion was organised by Steve Frampton (1973) with the help of Kristy Delport (2004) at the Chapman Golf Club in Harare. More 2004 Old Rhodians rallied together with Hayley Pycroft designing the banners and Jessica Calder spreading the word and tracking down Old Rhodians in Harare. The Vice-Chancellor Dr Badat and his wife Ms Shireen Badat attended the reunion and were overjoyed at the turnout and "purple" atmosphere! Approximately 200 guests, ranging from first year at Rhodes 1956 to 2007 thoroughly enjoyed themselves, with many old friends reconnecting. Steve Frampton welcomed everybody and introduced Dr Badat who gave an informative and impressive update of the current growth and accomplishments at Rhodes University. The evening progressed into an entertaining and nostalgic reunion for all. (Rumour has it until 3 a.m. in the morning for some!)
