Research Interests: Identity, Race, Ethnicity, South African Heritage and Identity, Transnational Migration

Biography

Kelly Solomon studied and continues to study Anthropology at Rhodes University. She has conducted ethnographic research in Cape Town. She has done work on South African coloured identity and is now focusing on Somali transmigrants in the informal sector. Kelly is a Teaching Assistant at the Rhodes University Anthropology Department and has lectured a course on sex and gender at first year level.
