Masters Candidates
In the department we offer a Research Masters only. A period of two years in residence for consultation with the supervisor is required for the MA. Students are encouraged and supported to complete approximately six months of fieldwork, in an area of study chosen by the candidate, in consultation with his/her supervisor. Supervisors are chosen by candidates, rather than prescribed by the department (when staff are available and not on sabbatical leave).
Depending on space, students are provided with access to an office, and a computer for study purposes. The department encourages socialisation with staff members during tea times, and during staff consultation hours.
