DALE HEFER ON SUSTAINABLE MARKETING
Dale HeferDale Hefer is Founding Director of the Chillibush Group of Companies. She started the company in 1998 as a one woman show. Operating from a rented garage and using her boyfriend’s computer and money given to her by her sister as start up capital, Dale soon grew the business to the R1m mark. Today she employs a team of more than 40 with projected earnings of R70 – R80m. She was a finalist of the Ernst & Young Global Emerging Entrepreneur Award in 2007 and was the Gauteng Businesswoman of the Year in 2008. Dale is a graduate of the University of KwaZulu-Natal and is the author of the bestselling “From Witblits to Vuvuzelas: Marketing in the New South Africa”. (1 July 10:00)
KEITH COATS ON SUSTAINABLE LEADERSHIP
Keith Coats is the co-founder of TomorrowToday and Director of Story Telling. He is a highly regarded presenter and has consulted, presented and taught in countries
including China, Japan, Russia, the United States, Sweden, Austria, Vietnam, the United Kingdom and Namibia. He is on the International Advisory Board of the Global Leaders Conference; has been involved in the Asia Pacific Leadership Programme at the East West Center, Hawaii, and is a member of the Salzburg Seminars. JUDGE MERVYN KING ON SUSTAINABLE ORGANISATIONS
Mervyn King is a Senior Counsel and former Judge of the Supreme Court of South Africa. A Visiting Professor in the Rhodes Investec Business School, he has an honorary Doctor of Laws from the University of the Witwatersrand, is Chairman of the King Committee on Corporate Governance in South Africa, President of the Advertising Standards Authority. He is Chairman of the Global Reporting Initiative in Amsterdam and a member of the Private Sector Advisory Group to the World Bank on Corporate Governance, a member of the international advisory boards of Stern Stewart of the USA, Tomorrow’s Company of the United Kingdom and the Central European Corporate Governance Association. He is the Chairman of the Asian Centre of Corporate Governance and Chairman of the United Nations Committee on Governance and Oversight. He is presently the Chairman of Strate, the settlement arm of trades in equities and other instruments in South Africa. He has consulted, advised and spoken on legal, business, advertising, sustainability and corporate governance issues in 43 countries and has received many awards. He is the author of “Transient Caretakers”, with Teodorina Lessidrenska and “The Corporate Citizen”. (1 July 14:00)

Simon Gear is the environmental and science correspondent for Primedia Broadcasting which encompasses Talk Radio 702 and 567 Cape Talk as well as KFM in Cape Town and 94.7 in Johannesburg. In addition to this, he anchors South Africa’s premier environmental TV show, 50/50. As a broadcast meteorologist, he has provided weather production and presentation services to all of the SABC’s domestic and international TV channels since 1999. He runs his own environmental consultancy, SDG Consulting, which focuses on climate change, energy issues and air quality modelling. (1 July 17:00)
