Advice on Finding Employment
Employment Opportunities
It is absolutely vital that one consults the Sunday Times, City Press and Mail & Guardian every week - Not just the online versions but the actual papers as well. The Career Centre has copies of these publications every week so please come and use them.
Family or contacts via friends are an important resource. Talk to people to see if any opportunity is available that is not currently advertised.
For career opportunities, students are encouraged to visit Career Centre resources such as job adverts notice boards for jobs or internships that may be available, books for job search, CV writing skills and job preparation, news papers etc.
Ensure you have an up to date CV readily available. Remember there is no 1 "correct" way of compiling a CV. Use the workshops available at the career centre for extra assistance with this task. They will be running throughout the year at Career Centre - first floor Steve Biko Building.
If you can't attend these - make an appointment or browse through some of the resources we have available on CV writing.
Career Portals / Websites
