My group’s current research is focussed on three areas: the development and application of novel Fischer carbenes; the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds with potential as anti-retroviral therapeutic agents; and the development of new ruthenium metathesis catalysts. The latter two areas involve extensive collaboration within the Department of Chemistry, especially with Professor Perry Kaye and Dr Kevin Lobb.
