Dina Zoe Belluigi
As with the other academic members of CHERTL, Dina consults with and advises individuals and departments within Rhodes University. In addition to postgraduate supervision, she teaches courses for the Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education and for the first semester of 2013, will be teaching the Rhodes Assessors’ Course.
Dina has been researching a range of areas, from assessment to evaluation. Her Masters in Education thesis explored the disjunctions between the espoused and the practiced in the case studied, considering issues of student agency, intentionality and ethical relations between teacher and student. In addition, she has particular interest in teaching and learning in the creative arts disciplines. Her current research, towards her PhD, is to do with interpretative frameworks utilised in assessment, and to what extent these should consider student intentionality. In addition, she is researching towards understanding the interaction between learning and the conditions for creativity.
She sits on the Gender Action Committee, the Teaching and Learning Committee, and is a member of the Education and Humanities Faculties, amongst others.
Dina is also a practising artist. Her background is in Fine Art Studio Practice, which she taught for a number of years. She has a Master in Fine Art degree.
