Nompilo recently joined the Edtech team in CHERTL (January 2011) after teaching Computer Science for over 10 years, 6 of which were in the Extended Studies at Rhodes University. She is responsible for the efficient running of RUconnected, training of lecturers and addressing any questions on it. She is also involved in the implementation of several applications to aid students in their learning - including Read&Write 9 GOLD, Introduction to Statistics, etc.

Nompilo completed her MSc in Computer Science in 2001 at NUST (Zimbabwe) and her PGDHE (Rhodes) in 2007, which, she insists, opened her eyes to what teaching and learning really means and how to engage students in motivational, engaging, relevant and life-long learning.

Nompilo is passionate about web technologies and e-learning, and is currently involved in research involving student's access to and use of technology.
