Oriel House Centenary and Festival Cocktail CelebrationsDate Released: Fri, 8 July 2016 13:29 +0200
Thank you so much to all the former members who came back to Oriel House for the Homecoming Weekend held over the weekend of the 8th July. I can confidently confirm that a fantastic weekend was had by all! On the Friday night alumni joined our DVC, Dr Peter Clayton and the President of the Old Rhodian Union, Prof Rod Walker for the Festival Cocktail Party in honour of Oriel House and allowed all alumni to dwell on the memories, laughter and excitement. During the weekend we welcomed back to the campus alumni from across the country, and from all corners of the world to re-unit, reminisce and celebrate. We in turn celebrated the great things that our alumni had achieved in many walks of life, raising the name of the University and the House to new heights through their personal example.
We have launched the Oriel House Centenary Fund which seeks to galvanise support for the upkeep and maintenance of Oriel House and of Courtenay-Latimer Dining Hall, as well as to start a bursary scheme for future Oriel House residents.
