The friendly city of Cape Town welcomed Dr Sizwe Mabizela who hosted three alumni events on the 10th and 11th October.
The Vice-Chancellor’s Dinner welcomed our donors and ambassadors; the Legacy Luncheon welcomed our established alumni and the Cocktail Reunion saw all ages of our alumni participating in the question and answer session and engaging amongst each other.
A special note of thanks to Prof Judith Bishop, Dr Malcolm Venter and to Ms Grace Moyo for welcoming the team from Rhodes University and for setting the tone of each event.
Our Alumni events can present wonderful professional and personal opportunities whilst engaging with fellow Old Rhodians who all carry the same ethos, due to having shared campus and academic experiences, whilst studying at Rhodes University. Creating an engaged and supportive alumni network is crucial to an institutions success and reputation. A Cape Town chapter will assist in keeping our alumni involved and plans are underway to form the chapter. If anyone would like to be on the steering committe, please email alumni@ru.ac.za
