The community engagement representatives have displayed strong leadership skills, coordinated events such as the car wash where they invited GenX youth to assist them to raise funds for hospice. Through this working relationship the reps initiated a new project called “Big Sis ‘Lil Sis, which aims to mentor the young ladies of GenX about sex and being a teenager. They also hosted a baking session, dance classes and karaoke afternoon which helped students engage and build friendships. In all activities undertaken, GenX learners and Rhodes students worked together to make the various programmes possible.
