Health promotion initiative for Rhodes support staff

On Monday 30 January a new initiative was launched at Rhodes, conceptualised by Prof Sunitha Srinivas from the Faculty of Pharmacy focusing on health promotion for the Support staff at Rhodes.  Rhodes VC, Dr Sizwe Mabizela spoke at the launch and reminded the large gathering that by changing diet and including exercise into lifestyles, it can improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and families.  The Workplace Health Promotion Programme is being driven by the Residence Operations Department and the Faculty of Pharmacy.   The Programme has identified 40 Peer Educators at Rhodes and intensive training has commenced.  Rhodes continues to build partnerships through which social change is accelerated and the holistic development of staff is promoted.
