Right to Know

This show looks at the ethics behind research at Rhodes by contrasting the ethical standards for social research (Anthropology and Psychology) versus journalistic interaction with the community. These departments have very different methods and ideas about the ethical interaction with the wider Grahamstown community.

This show examines research projects that give birth to community engagement projects, with a special focus on Inkwenkwezi.

Rooted in the Community

A look at how indigenous knowledge fuels research and innovation in the Environmental Learning Centre.

The Catch

The show will focus on how the research conducted in the Ichthyology department (i.e. fisheries science, aquaculture or ichthyology research) gives back to the Grahamstown community. Questions such as, is there a protein feeding scheme put in place or the research conducted thereof, that is distributed or passed on to poverty stricken areas?

Technokana

This is all about how technological advances have helped better the lives of ordinary people and how this links to research being done at Rhodes.

How language establishes both divisions and connections between the campus and surrounding community and how language and linguistics-based research helps to address this divide.

Dead Postgrad Society

A show that focuses on the post-grad research being conducted at Rhodes University. The show looks to probe into whether or not this research actively becomes anything, or if a large percentage of it is merely consigned to a spot in the library.

Homegrown

Rhodes University is at the cusp of some great research that is being used around the world and will be used in the future. What does this mean for Grahamstown? Do they get rewarded? How is the research originating in Grahamstown benefiting the people of the community?
