Conference Accommodation
The residences at Rhodes University are grouped into nine halls, all in lovely gardens, with different atmospheres and traditions to suit all kinds of people. Most rooms are single, providing private space for rest. The residences are arranged in groups of three or four single houses around a central dining hall and recreation area. All residences are located on campus and within walking distance to conference venues.
Residence meals are run on a cafeteria system, with three different menu options, catering for dietary requirements, i.e. normal western diet, vegetarian and Hindu/Halaal.
- Although almost all accommodation is in single rooms, some residences offer a limited amount of twin-bedded rooms.
- Bathing, showering and toilet facilities with an abundance of hot water are available in every residence. No rooms have private bathrooms.
- Bedding is provided.

- Towels and soap are provided
- Rooms are serviced daily
- Shaving plugs and double adaptors are not available
- Late-night tea and coffee are available on a self-service basis
- Public telephones are available. Porters are not.
- Catering in the appropriate dining hall provides a full English breakfast.
- Bookings should be made and paid for in advance.
- Every residence has its own ‘common room’ where guests are welcome to watch television, read a book or just enjoy each others company.

Arrivals and Departures
Visitors may book into a residence any time after 14:00 on the day of their booking.Guests are requested to sign out before 10:00 on the day of their departure. For your safety and comfort and that of fellow guests, please note that SINGLE rooms are for ONE PERSON ONLY.
