Prof. Ma Yue and excited Rhodes students

This week, the Confucius Institute at Rhodes began its first week of lectures. Rhodes is proud to offer an initial one-year course in Mandarin, with the possibility of this course being developed into a full three-year undergraduate course over the next few years.

Interest shown in the course was high, with students from all years and all faculties racing to register for the class before the cut-off point was reached. Even the busy timetable - five lectures a week, either during lunch or after hours - didn't put off the eager and excited students!

For further information about this exciting new venture at Rhodes, please see: The Confucius Institute.
