Victor Gacula from the Cory Library attended a Paper Conservation Workshop, 9-10 February 2010, run by Fleur Way-Jones, Historian at the Albany Museum, Grahamstown. The workshop was an intiative of the LIASA Special Libraries Interest Group (LiSLIG), Eastern Cape.
Workshop participants learnt about the conditions that can lead to the deterioration of paper, and the resources needed for paper conservation. Hands-on repairs included books with torn pages, dog-eared pages and loose spines. Everyone brought a small print for mounting.
