Miss Matebese completed her undergraduate studies at the university in 2015 as well as her honours in Psychology in 2016. Her honours project focused on assessing the effectiveness of discursive materials called the Auntie Stella cards (which she and other students translated from English to IsiXhosa and trialed) for HIV and AIDS psychoeducation among students at the university.
She is currently working on her Masters thesis entitled Women's narratives about alcohol use during pregnancy: A narrative-discursive study. This thesis aims to address and create an understanding of the interpersonal circumstances under which drinking during pregnancy takes place with the hopes that findings from this study will be used to inform existing and future interventions which aim to address alcohol use during pregnancy.
