Community Development Practitioners
The CSD completed the training of the first-ever Learnership for Level 1 Development Practice with a group of 20 Community Development Practitioners. Most of these CDPs were placed with ECD sites and another precedent was set with the Makana Municipality providing stipends for these CDPs, topped up by funding from a private sector donor.
The CSD further contributed to putting more community development workers in the field by being the training provider for 3 CDW courses under the Local Government SETA.
More recently the CSD has undertaken a Level 5 course in Development Practice. This will further ensure the professional development of Community Development Practitioners and Workers - in communities and local government.
