What are my responsibilities as an HOD with regard to signing off courses on offer?
New courses at the University can only be approved by the Registrars Division and making a successful application to the CHE and SAQA. Internal naming conventions can change as well as the semester in which the course is on offer. Inaccuracies in the semesterisation cause incorrect clash checks to be done at registration and can cause students to be registered for courses that they cannot attend. Incorrect exam timetabling is a result of the incorrect semester as well as incorrect census day class list generation. It is your responsibility to assist the University with the administration of the data that drives these processes.
