THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES: Based on dozens of interviews Eve Ensler conducted with women, The Vagina Monologues is a witty and moving play that addresses women's sexuality and the social stigma surrounding rape and abuse, creating a new conversation about and with women. As a part of the Women's Week activities on campus, two performances of this play will be staged at Rhodes University.

First meeting: Auditions
25 JUL (Mon) 7-9PM
Venue: Steve Biko Student Union, Room 2 (ground floor)

Format: Print out the attached "Vagina Monologues Audition Form" document and bring a completed copy with you to the audition. Auditions will be held on a first-come, first-serve basis. As the primary part of the audition, you will be asked to read one monologue excerpt of your choice from the given three excerpts. Please request the full scripts from rhodesvaginas@gmail.com - they will be sent to you as a pdf.
 
Announcements for the cast will be made public on 26 JUL (Tues) on the Facebook group page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=36101375#!/groups/206202076088793?ap=1 and the cast will be sent an additional email.
 
NOTE: All cast members are required to attend every rehearsal listed below:

• 30 JUL (Sat) 2-4PM (Rehearsal at Steve Biko Student Union, Room 2)
• 1 AUG (Mon) 7-9PM (Rehearsal at Steve Biko Student Union, Room 2)
• 3 AUG (Wed) 7-9PM (Rehearsal at Steve Biko Student Union, Room 2)
• 6 AUG (Sat) 2-4PM (Rehearsal at Steve Biko Student Union, Room 2)
• 9 AUG (Tues) 2-5PM & 7-9PM (Dress Rehearsal at Nun's Chapel)
• 10 AUG (Wed) 8-9PM (Final Reviews at Nun's Chapel)
• 11 AUG (Thur) 7-9PM (Performance at Nun's Chapel)
• 12 AUG (Fri) 7-9PM (Performance at Nun's Chapel)

INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING?
For anyone who wants to help out in other ways (ticket sales, advertising, set design, etc.) there will be a Volunteer's Meeting:
6 AUG (Sat) 4-5PM
Venue: Steve Biko Student Union, Room 2

INTERESTED IN ATTENDING?
Tickets (R25) will be sold at the door 6-7PM each performance night at the Nun's Chapel.
11 AUG (Thur) 7-9PM Performance

12 AUG (Fri) 7-9PM Performance
The proceeds generated from these events will be going to a local charity.
