Carl Joshua Ncube is set to continue his world tour with a trip to South Africa which should see 8 performances in August and September courtesy of Parkers Comedy and Jive. The tour which has already seen Carl performing in Botswana, Zambia and Uganda will enter its biggest test on this excursion to South Africa says Carl.
The South African part of this tour will see Carl Joshua Ncube performing in a lineup of international acts at venues such as Parkers in Montecasino, Carnival City and Emperors Palace. Carl and his team depart Harare, Zimbabwe on Friday 5 August to prepare for what Carl says is his biggest challenge yet and such a great opportunity.

US veteran Will-E Robo (3-6 August), Zimbo Carl Joshua Ncube (11-13 August), Martin Davis (17-20 August) from the UK and American Mike G (31 August – 3 September) all headline alongside Chris Forrest, ever-offbeat Bevan Cullinan, hyperactive Hannes Brummer, crowd favourite Dave Levinsohn and relative newcomers Robbie Collins, Mpho Pops and Simmi Areff.
Energetic, charismatic, versatile and animated are just a few words that describe Will-E Robo’s (3-6 August) stand-up routines. The universal comedian combines his story-telling abilities with vividly humorous gestures and amazing sound effects that paint a clear picture in audiences’ heads. Famous for his impressions of animals, entertainers, and other characters, this dynamic performer has a cult following in the ‘States. He’s appeared on BET's Comic View, Russell Simmons’ Def Comedy Jam and P. Diddy's Bad Boys of Comedy. He’s also performed in comedy clubs around the world.
Carl Joshua Ncube (11-13 August) has to laugh – he’s from Zimbabwe, after all. His 3-day stop in South Africa sees the culmination of a comedy world tour which is supposed to take him to 37 different cities on 5 continents. Not bad for someone who’s only been doing stand-up comedy for a year. When he got up and told a joke at an event, people laughed and he found that he quite liked it - and so the journey began. Within a few months he was being invited to be an MC-cum-entertainer at events. In just 12 months, he’s done what many in the industry have never dared to do - and now he’s raising the bar. Martin Davis (17-20 August) is an acclaimed stand-up with a dedicated following all over Britain and South Africa. While he regularly performs at all of the UK’s top comedy clubs, he is also well-known in SA for his sell-out one-man shows and headline appearances at events like the Cape Town Comedy Festival. Martin has appeared in a number of BBC television productions and international adverts and is kept busy year-round by numerous private and corporate clients.
Having toured extensively in Australia and abroad, American stand-up comedian Mike G (31 August – 3 September) has established himself as a unique and refreshing young talent on the international comedy circuit. As well as performing stand-up on his frequent trips back to America, Mike G has also recently performed to sell out crowds in South East Asia and appeared on Melbourne’s Champagne Comedy TV special, the Rove Daily web-site and Triple J’s radio show J-Arts.
Kedibone Mulaudzi’s Tuesday Urban Nights have become something of an institution at Parker’s, with the man himself and his crazy gang offering something unique – stand-up comedy in English as well as the vernacular. Nqoba Nqobo hosts one night this month (16 August) - laughs guaranteed and each night a different experience! Tickets are just R50.
Wednesday nights (tickets R70) are all about unpredictability as a star MC and headline act are joined on stage by the Improv Express team - who make up everything on the spot, based on suggestions from the audience. There’s also an Open Mic slot for burgeoning comics – or established stars who want to try out new material. You never know what you’re going to get on Wednesdays!
