What matters most to you?
Your contribution to Rhodes is as individual as you are. Whether your interest is in supporting the Sports Foundation, contributing to research grants, providing bursaries, or honouring your former Faculty – the choice of how your donation will be used is yours to make. The Annual Fund embraces the following areas of need:
- Bursaries/Student Support
- Rhodes Sports Foundation
- Research
- Faculty or Department
- General Funds
Not sure what's best?
The focus for our 2013 appeal is bursary support for academically-sound, socio-economically deprived students. Despite the University allocating over R25 million from our own funds, the expected shortfall in financial aid requirements for 2013 is over R4 million.
The philosophy of our Vice-Chancellor, Dr Saleem Badat, is that financial need should never preclude a deserving student from the benefits of a Rhodes University education - EVERY contribution - no matter the size - is needed and you can play your part in helping students who are experiencing financial hardship have the opportunity to complete their studies at Rhodes.
If you prefer to make regular smaller contributions you can visit our Other Ways to Donate.
General Funds
Perhaps there is a particular area of the University that you would like to support. If so, please talk to us - you are welcome to make general donations which are used in strict accordance with your wishes.
