Lieketso 'Dee' Mohoto
Lecturer

Lieketso or Dee is a performer, academic and live sound/voice artist who studied at the University of Cape Town's drama department before she went on to freelance as a voice coach and performer with a primary interest in the voice in performance practice.
She is considered a wordsmith of a very strange sort, an artist and general performance junkie. She enjoys multiple obsessions that include, but are in no way limited to, the notion of the director as a crafter.
In line with the experimental nature of her vocal practice, she has worked with Mwenya Kabwe (currently reading for a PhD at the Wits Institute for Social and Economic Research - WISER) as an experimental live sound artist in multiple research productions including Migritude (2011) for the Out The box festival's Iqonga component and a rendition of Adrienne Kennedy's SUN (2012).
As a performer, she has worked with Syrian director Naila Al Atrash in House of wives (Fatima Gallaire, 2000) during her Honours studies in 2011. She has also worked in workshoped productions within the UCT department of Drama throughout her undergraduate career.
As a director, she has submitted two original devised works with co-Director Siphumeze Khundayi to the University of Cape Town's Res4Res theatre festival. Wounded Mirrors (2010) which received an award for 'Best script' and Re-Generations (2009) receiving a 'Best supporting actor' award.
She is currently preparing to read for a Masters Degree in Applied Theatre practices at Rhodes University Drama Department while continuing, growing and playing with her teaching, performance and theatre-making practices.
