Drostdy Hall Awards 2011
The following awards were presented at the Drostdy Hall Formal Leavers Dinner held on the 11th October 2011:
Cultural Awards presented to:
- Fika Nqeto of Graham House for outstanding achievements in debating.
- P.J Waugh of Graham House for outstanding achievements in the performing arts.
- Gerald Machona of Celeste House for outstanding achievements as an emerging artist.
Oakdene Student of the Year Award presented to:
- Mlando Dhlamini for his contribution to the residence.
Celeste Student of the Year Award presented to:
- Tina Dreier for her contribution to the residence.
Special Achievement Award presented to:
- Alex Lenferna of Oakdene House in recognition for his outstanding impact of environmental awareness at Rhodes University and beyond, especially for receiving the Young Environmental Envoy Award from the United Nations Environmental Programme.
First Year Academic Award presented to:
(presented to the first year student with the best overall academic performance from the mid year examinations)
- Abigail Branford of Allan Gray House for achieving 85.75%
Second Year Academic Award presented to:
(presented to the second year student with the best overall academic performance from the previous November examinations and from the mid year examinations)
- Ashlyn Brokensha of Prince Alfred House for achieving 84.25%
Third Year Academic Award presented to:
(presented to the third year student with the best overall academic performance from the previous November examinations and from the mid year examinations)
- Jenny Jacobs of Allan Gray House for achieving 77%
- Armand Swart of Graham House for achieving 76.66%
Dean of Students Leadership Award presented to:
