Community Engagement 2011
HALL INITIATIVES
In the first term Drostdy Hall hosted Little Flower Pre-School for a fun afternoon on the 11 March on the lawns in front of the Drostdy Dining Hall. The Drostdy Community Engagement Reps and volunteers organised a jumping castle, cupcakes, face painting, soccer and other activities for the children. Some of the Drostdy students double booked their lunch on that day and donated their double booked portion in lieu of a packed lunch for a child and therefore each child received a packed lunch.
The students of Drostdy also participated in a bucket list project which was initiated last year and was a great success and they decided to run it again this year. The students filled buckets with non-perishable food items. This was also a competition between the Drostdy residences to see which residence filled the most buckets. These buckets were given as a gift at the end of the year to the Drostdy Catering and Housekeeping staff to thank them for their service. Leftover buckets were given to Little Flower Pre-School.

The Community Engagement Reps purchased cutlery and crockery for N.V Cewu School's soup kitchen from funds raised last year and these items were handed over to the school.
