The year started off with a bang with the incoming ladies of Prince Alfred House, in collaboration with the Graham House gentlemen, winning the annual Orientation Week RU Jamming Competition. The win created a buzz of excitement within the residence, and the prize earned PA a long awaited large flat screen television, which has become central to a lot of common room interactions.

Entertainment activities largely consisted of braais and movie nights, all of which were well attended and thoroughly enjoyed. Games night was one for the books as it revealed the true competitive nature of the PA Ladies but with some good fun as well. These events gave the ladies an opportunity to get to know each other in the presence of good food and good entertainment. All the proceeds of sold goodies went towards fundraising for the residence in the event that funds may be needed in the future.

The beach trip to Kenton Beach was one of the highlights as it came at a perfect time – before the stress of exams had kicked in, giving the ladies a last chance to really enjoy themselves before the swotting began. We ended the year with the annual awards evening where the ladies had an opportunity to show us what they’ve got in a talent segment filled with singing, dancing, storytelling and even ukulele playing! Overall, it was a good year for entertainment in PA, friends were made and memories were made.
