Executive Director - Jill Wolvaardt
Jill Wolvaardt (BA, Dip Ed, Stirling) is a Scot who became a proudly ‘new South African’ citizen in 1997. In the UK she worked for several years in a major international aid agency where she became senior editor and head of publishing. Jill joined the Dictionary Unit for South African English in 2000 as part of the editorial team for the South African Concise Oxford Dictionary (2002). She was appointed Executive Director in 2004, and with colleague Tim van Niekerk led the Dictionary Unit’s editorial team that worked with Oxford University Press on the Oxford South African Concise Dictionary (2010).
