Due Performance

Rhodes is a residential university that aims to develop skills, which requires more of its students than institutions of distance learning. In particular, the Economics Department seeks to develop an understanding of the discipline by providing and promoting opportunities for discussion and placing some focus on what happens during a course in addition to the assessment at the end. Students will be permitted to enter the final examination only if they have ‘duly performed’, usually known as attaining a ‘DP’ (and sometimes even as attaining a ‘DP certificate’ although in practice there is no physical certificate issued).
