ACE SL

Advanced Certificate in Education (ACE) in School Leadership (SL)

This is a nationally designed two-year part-time ACE, designed specifically for school principals. There will be no intake in 2010. 

Five week-long sessions are held, as far as possible, over school holidays in each of the two years. Attendance at all sessions is required.

The core modules cover:
• The historical context of Education Leadership and Management in SA
• School policy, planning and governance
• People leadership
• Organisation management
• Curriculum leadership

Assessment is site based. The qualification will be awarded based both on onsite verified evidence of significant school change and a reflective portfolio. As all school role-players will be influenced by the course successful applicants are required to have the support of their staff and SGB to participate in the course.
