Michael James

I went to school in Johannesburg, although my early years were spent in Fish Hoek, near Cape Town. My academic interests include philosophy (phenomenology & existentialist thought, medieval philosophy, philosophy of religion); theology; science-fiction, fantasy and American literature; the science and practice of language education and linguistics.

In my MA thesis, I am exploring the philosophy of life underpinning C.S. Lewis's cosmic trilogy (Out of the Silent Planet, Perelandra and That Hideous Strength).

My supervisor is Dr Jamie McGregor.

I am being funded by a RU Postgraduate Scholarship.
