Energy wise
The Rhodes University has begun to address energy efficiency issues and monitors Rhodes University Electricity usage on campus. Old University buildings have been retrofitted with low-energy consuming electrical fittings and appliances where possible, and all new buildings should automatically include these features. RU is supportive of the proposed Makana Wind Farm and is exploring other sustainable energy options to reduce dependence on 'dirty energy' sources.
