Paint
Wet paint is a form of hazardous waste, and should be disposed of safely at a chemical collection facility. If you have a large amount of leftover paint, consider donating it to a good cause, for example, repainting a community facility. If there is very little paint remaining, leave the lid off until it has dried out, then metal recyclers can use the tin.
At Rhodes University, staff and students are encouraged to take old paint and engine oil to the Mechanical Workshop for safe disposal. Paint thinners should be taken to the Chemical Stores.
