One enterprising academic put their response to us in poetry!
You put me to the test
I'll strive to do my best
Not sure what I can do
But I see you're in the poo
My students all away at schools
Becoming adults from student fools
I'll pass this on, nevertheless
And save our planet from further mess.
Prizes
Certificates and symbolic prizes - in the form of a tree being planted in honour of the achievement - will be awarded to these winners. The winners will have the opportunity to plant the trees, and the names of the winning teams will be included on the register of trees managed as a part of the Green Fund by the Environmental Committee.
- First 3 teams/individuals - to cross the finishing line.
- Best dressed team - weird, wild or wonderful: depicting world leaders’ lack of leadership on the issue of environmental sustainability.

Donations
Donations, other than entry fees, made to the Green Fund may attract tax benefits in terms of Section 18A of the Income Tax Act. Rhodes has a Broad-based BEE rating as a level 4 contributor and therefore has a recognition level of 100%. A system of honouring donors by planting trees and recording the names of donors in a register is being developed by the RU Environmental Committee.
