Accounting
relating to environmental sustainability
The Accounting Department recognises the need to address environmental concerns as part of its Auditing 2 course where students are taught how environmental matters need to be taken into account in the audit of financial statements as well as the corporate governance issues surrounding environmental matters. Financial Accounting courses consider the accounting for rehabilitation and restoration costs. In addition, environmental taxes form one of the areas of post-graduate research in the department.
