The Rhodes Business School developed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) focusing on Environmental Management in 2004. The MBA course is fully accredited and, according to a recent survey by the Aspen Institute, USA, is the only MBA programme in Africa to offer a significant elective stream covering environmental management. The elective stream aims to provide future business and organisational leaders with a sound understanding of the relationship between development and the environment, particularly within the Africa context. Modules include Business and Sustainable Development, Environmental Law, Environmental Risk Assessment, Environmental Management Systems and Environmental Economics.
