The Chemistry Department includes short courses on environmental and green chemistry (or "sustainable chemistry" – environmentally friendly chemicals and processes that yield safer products, less waste, eliminate costly end-of-the-pipe treatments, and use less energy and resources) in its undergraduate curricula. As a Department we ensure that, as future chemists, our undergraduate and postgraduate students practise at all times the safe and responsible use and disposal of both toxic and non-toxic chemical entities.
