Freedom Day
27 April (South Africa)
Freedom Day commemorates the first democratic elections held in South Africa on 27 April 1994. From an environmental perspective, we would also remind people that they are free to make sustainable choices.
This was the day in 1994 when the first democratic election was held in South Africa, ie an election when all adults could vote irrespective of their race, and the day in 1997 when the new constitution took effect
