May
Below we provide a list of environmental dates at-a-glance. While observation of an issue on a given date may not immediately address a problem, it can help raise the profile of environmental concerns and increase awareness. It is important to consider the environmental impact of social, political and economic issues every day - not just once a year - and take appropriate actions.
- Workers’ Day: our labour supports our livelihoods.
- National Bird Week: birds are part of our biodiversity.
- International Day of the Donkey: celebrating more than six millenia of help to humans.
- International Day of Families: environmental and community care starts at home.
- International Museum Day: support places of learning.
- International Day for Biological Diversity: our natural ‘insurance policy’.
