Rhodes University students, academics and administrators, at a well-attended workshop yesterday committed to the adoption of new, ambitious sustainability indicators to measure institutional performance against revised annual targets for plastic, electricity, paper and water usage.

A Green Call to Action to mark Nelson Mandela Day on Monday 18 July!
The IERM (Institute of Environment and Recreation Management) has issued a green call to action to local authorities to pledge their support to planting trees, beautifying road islands and cleaning sporting facilities, parks or water bodies.

In honour of the 67 years Mandela spent fighting for the rights of humanity, residents, business and media are encouraged to join in, canvas and support Makana Municipality, and contribute a minimum of 67 minutes to bettering our local environment.

Green Fund Run 2010
On Sunday 10/10/10, the Environmental Committee held its first fundraising event for the Rhodes University Green Fund - a Green Fund Run. The event drew a good turnout, some intent on a winning place, and others contented to walk at a gentle pace. The fun run/walk started on time, at 08h30. The first team to cross the finishing line was Formula 21, followed by
