Makana Environmental Forum

The Makana Environmental Forum was initiated in 2003 under the auspices of Makana Municipality’s portfolio committee on Environment, Disaster Management and Heritage, and the Directorate of Social and Community Services. It serves as a forum for collaborative engagement in a diverse range of environmental projects and activities in the Makana district. 

MEF Meetings

The forum, under the chair of the portfolio committee of Environment, Disaster Management and Heritage, meets four times a year. Meeting dates are set by the Makana Environmental Manager (see below).

Makana LEAP

The environmental vision of Makana Municipality is informed by local issues and environmental protocols of the Local Environmental Action Plan and the Makana Integrated Development Plan (IDP) Makana IDP
