Thicket Forum
The Thicket Forum – formed in 2004 by a group affectionately known as "Thicketeers" – is an affiliation of people from all walks of life with a shared interest in Subtropical Thicket and biodiversity. This Valley Bushveld, as it is also known, occurs mainly in river valleys and is unique to the Eastern Cape. It is comprised of bulky evergreen bushes and trees, many of them spiny or succulent, with a large variety of vines and bulbous plants beneath. The Thicket Forum welcomes anyone who has something to say about Thicket, and has an annual gathering [see http://www.gssa.co.za/congress2007/] to share lessons about management, research and education, and to promote the conservation of landscapes and the enhancement of livelihoods within the Thicket biome.
