Millenium Tree Planting Project
The Millenium Tree Planting Project (MTPP) is a non-profit organisation that supports greening and cleaning at a local community level. Established in 1999, the MTPP promotes self-betterment and sustainability by supporting disadvantage communities to take responsibility for planting and caring for indigenous trees. The MTPP aims to increase knowledge and understanding of local indigenous trees and plants through education and awareness-raising, and promote active involvement in conservation, cultivation, study and wise use of natural resources, and strengthen the work of environmental groups or clubs. As a member of the Makana Environmental Forum, the MTPP liaises and co-operates with other individuals, groups and organisations with similar objectives, such as the Albany Horticultural Society.
